The reason I'm asking this is I saw these people jumping on the Amazing Race. Is this some sort of greeting for them?

It is a long tradition with the Maasai warriors to jump. It is said to be a sign of manhood and strength, and is a great competition amongst the young men.

They are basically display peacock like behavior. They are saying "look at how beautiful I am"
