I had two wisdom teeth pulled and one hurt and one didn't. I didn't take any time off from work. It's not that bad that you need to take time off.

i asked this very question a few weeks ago....everyone said a day to a week. I booked three days off..I developed complications and had severe swelling and bruising, they put me on two antibiotics and i was back to work seven days after. Tell your work what your getting done, take three days off to make sure, and if you need more time they will be prepared. After this happened i learned that every person heals differently and there are no guarantees. It's been a couple of weeks now, and I feel good......and happy I'll never have to do this again.
p.s: also before your appointment make sure that you have ice packs at home, at least two, one for each cheek. A big bottle of Advil Liquid gels for the pain and swelling. Lots of food that is soft, mashed potatoes, pudding, jello, soup. Your dentist will also give you Tylenol with codeine so plan to make a stop to your pharmacy after.

I VE HAD THE SURGERY DONE, WHEN THEY GIVE U A GENERAL ANAESTHETIC.U DONT FEEL ANYTHING UNTIL OF COURSE U WAKE UP.YOU'LL HAVE AN ICE PACK ON UR JAW.YOU'LL HAVE SWELLING,BRUISING,AND ABIT OF DISCOMFORT BUT THAT'S IT.PANADOL OR NUROFEN WILL DO THE JOB.I HAD 4 WISDOM TEETH REMOVED ALL AT ONCE.I WAS AROUND 22yold.GOING BACK TO WORK DEPENDS ON THE BRUISING,AND IF THAT DOESN'T BOTHER U AFTER 3 DAYS IS OK TO GO BACK TO,AND U HAVE TO REMEMBER THAT EVERYONE IS DIFFERENT TO PAIN.ITS THAT BAD.GOODLUCK IF U DO IT.

the amount of pain you experience really depends on the condition of your teeth. if they are impacted, taking them out is a far bigger deal. are you tolerant of pain? if you have a low threshold for pain then you can get medication but that may leave you incapacitated for work. also, you have to consider what your doc will give you to ease you during the procedure. if you have a reaction to the gas or novacaine, your healing process may be lengthened.
i had all four pulled in two sessions. for the first two i was given laughing gas and had a severe allergic reaction. i spent the next five days in severe pain. for the next two teeth i asked for nothing more than the novacaine and my recovery was a matter of hours. i had severly impacted teeth and i have a high tolerance for pain.

It really depends. I had one pulled 3 days ago on a thursday. I took that day and the next day off but prob could have went into work the next day.
If you are getting all 4 of them pulled you might need a couple days.

I had nine teeth removed at one time, including my wisdom teeth, but I was put out for it. I was in a lot of pain afterward though. God Bless, and good luck.

I had all 4 of mine removed at once and they had to be sawed out of my jawbone....I was pretty high on painkillers for a few days. If that's the situation you're looking at, I'd give it at least a couple of days.
