Best time of year to surf Eastern Australia and Tasmania?

Lots of surf and sun. Kids in school and few tourists.

As already mentioned, Surfing is at it's peak during our Winter, or May - September. It can be quite cool in these months especially in Tasmania, but the surf is worth it.

Best to stick to Far North Queensland and Central New South Wales if you don't want to brave the cold.

Best surf is winter - May to September.
