I really need to clean a CD. But I really don't want to mess it up. I need to know what to use and what not to use. Anyone have any clue how to fix it?

use a soft tissue to clean it...remember not to press down too hard. and do not clean round in circles...wipe in straight lines. that should be good enough.

paper towel and glass cleaner. Rub from the inside out and not circles. Remember the information is on the back side of the disc. They make a disc cleaner that you put the CD in but it will wear the back side of the disc down rather quickly and ruin your CD.

put a little vaseline and let it sit for a few minutes and then wipe off and rinse with water. (dont wipe in circles, wipe from the center of the cd and out in straight lines) oh and NEVER try chemicals that you are unsure about, i used some sort of rubbing alchol and my cd stoped working.

A soft cotton cloth works fine. But if a CD doesnt work it usually is something else wrong with it.

first of all...if you rent dvds at a store and they are very nice they might clean it for you
second....you should take a clean, soft cotton cloth and gently wipe it,,it has to be smooth because if its hard (like tissue) it will scratch it even more(rubbing alcohol ruins it too)
