Hello. I am getting married out of state and then having a reception back home a few months later. I plan on sending out a wedding announcement/reception invite together in 1.
Do you normally send a photo of the couple in a wedding invite and/or annoucement? Im not sure of the rules regarding this.
thanks for any help

if you want to you can send an engagement photo but it is not a requirement. it is however a nice gesture since ppl will put them in scrapbooks or albums.

Do what you want. Yes, there is a "wedding etiquette" that you can find in all of the wedding planning books, but those are the "old" days.
If you would like to send photo of you and your fiancee with your invitations, I'm sure everyone will appreciate it, especially if the announcements and invites to go people he doesn't know, or people you don't know. It's always nice to see what a fiance or fiancee looks like when you're clear cross on the other side of the country.
Whatever you do, remember the cost. If you decide to add photos, you'll have to have them printed somewhere. If you do them at home on your computer, they won't cost much, but if you get them done at a printer, you could possibly be paying up to $50 or so depending on how many photo's you're adding.

People get so obsessed with the "rules" of weddings. There are no rules, only traditions which you can choose to follow or not. Do you want a photo with your announcement? Do you want an announcement? The answers to those questions are the answers you seek.

Don't get bogged down with all the "rules". My wedding will have no maid or matron of honor because it puts friends in order...and all of my friends are my best friends! I won't have a bridesmaid for each groomsman either, who cares if the number is uneven?

Do what YOU want! And have a beautiful wedding!

There is a big difference between a wedding announcement and invitation. For an announcement you can put in a pic, but it's not required.

A marriage ceremony invitation does no longer desire a image. Not in any respect. You're placing needless strain on your self to check out to get them within the invites besides. If you fairly and real consider that each person you understand is demise to have a image of the 2 of you, then ship them LATER. Personally, I'd store the ones pics for instant loved ones and really near peers. Otherwise, I worry you would be losing plenty of cash on pics that few persons will honestly preserve.

Why do people think they have to plan there wedding announcement, wedding or reception according to rules??? Just do what you feel is best for you and your Honey! It's about you and nobody else. If people don't like it then they really never cared about you.

You can take a picture that was taken at your wedding and have that printed in the local paper so that people could see who was married. It tends to help people see the couple and you and your new husband can be proud of your marriage.

You can definitely include it however, it may be cheaper just to have it on the invite/announcement itself. On http://sealandsend.net you can get an invite and get the wording that you want that will serve as the announcement/invite together.

You can, it is done, but it isn't a must. There are people who dont like to have their photo taken or just dont want to bother with the extra expense or trouble
