All children respond differently. It is true that the younger the child, is the easier it is. You need to replace it completely with a sippy cup. If you give in and keep giving the bottle back then that's gonna keep on happening. You have to allow children to adapt w/out showing that your gonna give in. They will expect you to always give. Remember to remain loving, yet firm, in your decision. Make sure that when the bottle gets taken away, so should any binky's. Any kind of object that a child puts in their mouth (like a bottle, binky, chew toys etc... will keep a childs mind on wanting a bottle.

You can give your sister her milk and pediasure in a sippy cup. If she doesn't drink out of a sippy very well yet try a soft spout like the Nubby. Only offer water in the bottle. My children were very stubborn and I had to just stop giving them the bottle and they would eventually learn they needed to use the sippy. You can try that or just discontinue the daytime bottles and continue the bedtime one for a while longer. For me it worked better just to eliminate them altogether.

Don't give her milk or pediasure too close to mealtime or she might fill up on that. Try to get her to eat some food first with maybe some water then let her have her milk at end of meal.

If she isn't used to the taste of milk, try adding some to the pediasure in increasing amounts to help make the transition easier.

Good luck!

Well if her doctor said she needs to go off the bottle you need to take her off the bottle also her being on the bottle can cause damage to her teeth and you don't want that for her that is something shell have to deal with in life the bottle is just her comfort right now but if you take it away she will soon get over it maybe find her a cool sippy cup she really likes and make the sippy cup seem really cool and exciting shell be just fine everyone unfortunately has to give up the bottle eventually

Start filling the bottle with nothing but water. Soon she will realise that the bottle is not as satifying as anything else. Offer other age appropriate foods when she refuses the bottle. You can also start putting her milk or pediasure into a more age appropriate sippycup or plastic cup with a spill proof lid.

Here is an interesting idea that my aunt used, and it worked. It's also just the right time of year, lol...

When her daughter refused to get off the bottle, she was about almost three years old and it was Easter time. She told her daughter that the Easter Bunny only brought baskets of candy for big girls, because babies don't eat candy. She explained that the Easter bunny would bring her a basket full of candy and big girl things just for her, and then take the bottles for little babies who needed them. Her little girl was so excited that she said she wanted the candy. That night, my aunt threw away every bottle in the house and put together a big basket of Easter candy, along with some big girl sippy cups and cups with straws attached and all kinds of cups for kids that her daughter would like. It worked for her. Try it out. Good luck!!!

You switch to the really cool sippy cups by Nuby, I have a 18 month old, she is on the nuby with the chewy top, its good, and i only give her 4 oz at a time of milk, then later 4 oz of juice or water, then later 4 oz of milk this way she gets hungry and will eat solid food! It shud work, nuby cups don't cost much, the only down fall is there lil teeth will eat a hole in the chewy tops!

GOOD LUCK!

well you can throw the bottles away and let her see you do it and tell her she is a big girl now and no more bottles they are for babies.when i bottle broke my kids i found they liked to drink either from a sippee cup or from a straw.make sure she gets enough to drink and if she is thirsty after she goes to bed do not give her a bottle give her water in a sipee cup or in a cup with a straw sugary drinks and milk lying on her teeth at night will cause problems with her teeth.also if she doesnt now she needs to be taught how to brush her teeth you will have to actually brush them for her till she can safely do it herself.you can also some time give her chocolate milk.good luck.

Im going through that right now with my son. I think the best advise I received was to take away the bottle during the day and give a sippy.....(which is hard because like yours mine doesnt eat that much and I feel that formula gives him what he misses during the day) What I do with the milk is give him half and half...half milk half formula to transition him to reg milk.....Its hard, but she will get use to it. Good Luck

I had an identical undertaking at around 20 months. What you ought to do is prepare him for it and persist with by using. i think of the undertaking is a superb variety of mum and dad do not persist with by using and it reasons issues. First you prepare him. Say ok we've one greater night including your bottle. the following day we are able to drink all of it a 0.5 hour previously bedtime. Then the subsequent night you're saying "ok no baba for night night time, so drink all of it now". Then placed him to mattress and persist with by using. he will scream the 1st night, then it gets greater effectual. you in basic terms ought to set the regulations and not "crumple" i think of. it rather is going to bypass 2 methods at this element. the two he will understand which you advise corporation and comply, or he will learn that if he screams long sufficient he can get his way at last. the different fringe of this coin is which you ought to inspire him while he does stuff appropriate. the following day say "all night and not using a baba, wow it particularly is a huge boy!" Sorry we nevertheless call it baba and not bottle, hehe. My new child at this age wears his thoughts on his sleeve for each individual to be certain. in basic terms enable him throw a greater healthy and overlook approximately him and he will learn it rather is not the thank you to get what he needs. good success to you! i'm looking this the main problematic age so some distance. yet additionally the main useful. Ours finally used the "massive potty" final night at 26 months and mom and that i cheered him on. you will do nice. :) additionally for encouragement, i might do a sprint prognosis on line approximately keeping a bottle that long. There are some well being subject concerns you ought to notice of. extremely letting him drink that near to bedtime and using a bottle that previous due in existence.
