well i don't think it's ringworm because that doesn't usually have fluid filled blisters, and impetigo will have a scab/crust that is honey colored. it could be just irritation aka "contact dermatitis." my 2 year old gets little pimple looking things on his butt sometimes too. if you child has a fever too it would def. be something to have looked at by the dr.

ps - if it's chickenpox, he'll have little red spots that turn into pimples that then scab over in a couple days. they spread around the chest and back then to the extremities. however, now kids are usually immunized against pox.

You should take him to the doctors. Could be one of a million different things...but if it doesn't spread, then it's something to be concerned about. (It could turn out being chicken pox, but that normally starts on the tummy.) And it could be bug bites, but if so, then they need medical attention. Or it could be something like Impetigo..which is highly contagious and needs immediate medical attention to prevent further infection and spreading it onto others. In the meantime, if it's itchy then it wouldn't hurt giving him an oatmeal bath or put some hydrocortisone ointment on the spots (wash your hands afterwards though)!

I hate to say this or stir up hysteria but it sounds like the papilloma virus or a mild STD.

Is your son around other people at any point in the day?

My daughter contracted it and we still can't figure out how she got it. It's a skin to skin kind of thing so we suspect maybe another child had it she came in contact with during daycare.

I'd hate to the it was from an adult but will face it if that's what it comes to.

Anyway, it sounds like what she has. It's permanent, but treatable. Not all p. viruses are STD related. So don't jump ship just yet. Get the facts, take him in to his doctor to get tested.
