What if it was left out, can it turn mouldy then?

It could turn moldy if it were left out. It wouldn't turn moldy in the freezer but it might cause them to be freezer burnt which sort of shrivels them and gives them a nasty taste.

Of course they can turn moldy if left out long enough at room temperature. But first they will get sour from bacterial growth and turn brown. This will take many hours if left out frozen to start with. Frozen peas are not sterile. So once you raise the temperature you have very low micro, but you have food (peas) and moisture=== mold and bacteria.
