I think you need a higher level bleach, You cant get a level 40 bleach in the super market you have to go to a beauty supply store or a salon, You might want to actually go to the salon cause if it lifted your roots to red and did nothing for the rest of your hair then you need different solutions to different parts of your hair, You dont want to go white at the roots and gray on the rest of your hair.

Dirty blonde looks so much better than bleach blonde. Keep your original hair colour.

The hair dye can't really make your hair lighter since all it does is deposit color. To make your blonde hair blonder, you need to see a colorist who will bleach your hair with a good quality hair bleach, which lifts pigment. If you want it a different shade, then you can dye it.

You prolly got a crappy color. I've done it before. Born blonde is great for getting that platnium blonde look. just be sure to get a super good conditioner for after the coloring.

Go to a salon. I have found that I can't even lighten my hair myself without it turning red. Safest to go see a professional. Good Luck!
