i mean think about it.......... before dogs were domesticated they ate raw meats from dead animals (you know, the food chain cuisine), so is it really ok to feed dogs leftover type meals? maybe leftover beefstew? spaghetti and meatballs? those types of things? i know people (in brasil) who feed their dogs a mix of leftovers with dry chow.... their dogs have been alive for years upon years.... ????

first garlic is ok for dogs, been giving it to all my dogs for years with no problems!

and table scraps as well if feeding with kibble u just lessen the amount of kibble given. If u want to feed raw its called a BARF diet for animals. but most ppl who feed this recomend giving some supplements. if u want to do home cooked food u need to do lots of resreach as to what calories and ect they need on a daily basis. the first site was very helpful to me.

You can use foods meant for human consumption so long as you do not prepare them the same way you would for humans. You can boil meats, whole grains and certain vegetable together in the proper proportions to make your own pet food. When I was growing up in Europe we never bought pet food, we cooked for our cats and dogs and they lived to a right old age. You have to get the proper information for which ingredients best suit the breed of your pet. You might also want to get a vitamin from your vet to make sure that your pet gets al it's nutrients.

Feeding your dog raw foods such as vegetables or very fresh unprocessed thing is very different from "table scraps" which are often fatty and contain other things such as too much sodium or spices that may not agree with a dog's stomach.

The types of foods easily assimilated by dogs differ by breed.

it really isnt okay to feed a pet dog or cat leftovers.. the meat we eat lack the nutrients and vitamins that dogs need in their diet.. if you look up the history of dogs you will see that dogs arent even carnivores, cats are. Dogs that only eat meat will suffer calcium and phosphorus deficiency which will cause the body to eat away at the bone trying to make up for the loss. If you are interested in giving your pet a long and healthy life, then well balanced foods need to be fed. Afterall, they are no longer wild animals and depend on their owners to give them what their bodies really need. Their depending on us not to be ignorant and to take care of them properly.

Really depends on the food. Some of the spices that we use while cooking, can upset a canine's stomach.

By the way, our domestic breeds are so far from their feral counterparts, that many could get sick, eating the same things that a wolf does.

It's fine to feed your dogs human food but feed it in moderation...you don't want your dog getting over-weight that can lead to all kinds of problems.

Dogs will eat anything.

But some food will make them pass gas like .... whew. They can get constipated, have loose stools, etc.

The formulated diets make it possible for dogs and humans to coexist in small spaces.

It's actually perfectly ok to feed your dogs people food. We have 2 dogs and we feed them meat, liver, cheese, pretty much anything we think is ok for them. It's not that hard though to figure out which kind of foods woud be good for your pets. It's just common sense. Just remember one thing...NEVER FEED THEM ANYTHING WITH ONIONS IN IT OR CHOCOLATE!!!

No, because whatever meats they ate long long ago those were right off the animal and these aren't these are cooked which is bad for dogs!!! So, I suggest not to give them human food... My dog died by eating too much human food!!! =(
