All berry and fruit meats (I am not grouping veggies here) are okay for birds. A good rule of thumb is that you should remove all pits, cores and seeds before giving it to them. Apple seeds are toxic, and apricot & peach pits are bad as well. Rhubarb is also a no-no. Tomatos are fine (yes, they are a fruit), just be sure to cut the toxic stem from the fruit. If there is any sign that a tomato is not ripe, please do not feed it to them. An unripe tomato is considered poisonous.

Any berry with the seeds outside is fine- like raspberries, blackberries and strawberries.

Absolutely positively do not feed your birds strawberries unless they are organic or thoroughly washed with a special fruit or vegetable wash and rinsed thoughly. The cancer-causing pesticides used on them should have been outlawed long ago, but continual lobbying by growers has slowed down the process. Humans should not eat them either.

Because of the high sugar content versus the size of a parakeet, make sure there is something available after the fruit, like broccili crowns or kale, to help keep the sugar levels down.

Stay away from canned and jarred fruits. They are usually in syrup or doused with sugar. Keep an eye out for items directed for diabetics, just make sure they do not contain aspertame, Splenda or any other sugar substatute as they may cause harm to your keet

Very few food items are toxic to parakeets, among them avacado and chocolate, alcohol and coffee.

Other than that, all fruits are safe for parakeets - just remember berries stain, so watch out where the bird eats them.

Yes, most fruits in small amounts are good for birds. Anything with a bright colour (it means lots of vitamins) like blueberries, strawberries, etc....is good for them. That's what they eat in the wild. Parakeets also like tropical fruits linke mangos. Make absolutely sure you WASH PRODUCE THOROUGHLY before giving it to your bird. Insecticides on the produce can kill your bird!!

You already have some great answers, but be aware. When you feed your bird fruits and veggies it will change the color and consistancy of their droppings. Strawberries and raspberries will color it red, so don't panic!

My birds also love sliced apples and carrots!

i in my opinion do not consider consuming "breakfast" is major for weight reduction. Eating a work of fruit or a small salad would be a breakfast, and even consuming water with a banana. for my part, weight reduction is approximately consuming the correct complete meals coupled with a good quantity of bodily activitiy corresponding to strolling or anything extra strenuous.
