My son has been complaining for over a year now about how is legs constantly hurt. He cant pin point a spot that the pain is in and there is not a day that his legs dont hurt. They can hurt in the day or in the evening. He has also started complaining that his feet hurt over the last several months. He has been having headaches off and on for the past 2 months too. We have asked the doctors and they just tell us its growing pains. I have never seen a kids with growing pains lasting this long or to the point that the child didnt want to go ride his bike or play outside because his legs hurt. I dont know where else to turn for information. I hate to see him hurting like this. We tried massaging them, rubbing them, warm baths, heating pads you name it we have even tried tylenol and motrin but nothing works. The meds dont seem to work on his headaches either. If anyone please has any idea of what to do or what this could be please help. Thank you all.

Hi Lisa. First, there is no such thing as 'growing pains'. Incompetent doctors use this ploy when they are afraid to tell the you the truth - that they do not know what is causing the pains.

Second, you need to find a doctor(s) that will work with you and your son to find the CAUSE of these pains. Some common causes include:

1) Vitamin D deficiency (very common today)
2) Magnesium and associated mineral deficiencies (again very common on modern diets)
3) Spinal/pelvic subluxations/misalignments and other biomechanical causes
4) Toxicities (e.g. heavy metals such as lead, mercury, cadmium, etc.)
5) Vitamin A toxicity (excessive vitamin A from cod liver oil and/or high dose vitamin supplements - or excessive liver intake).

I would like to suggest that you look for a medical doctor trained in environmental medicine and/or a Naturopathic Physician or a Doctor of Chiropractic to help you sort through these possible causes.

Best wishes and good luck.

I had all these symptoms when I was his age. I have Degenerative Joint Disease(DJD for short). Ask your family doctor about referring him to an orthopedic doctor and if that doesn't work ask to be referred to a rhumatoidologist(one who specializes in arthritis. This is a serious condition. I know and feel the pain your son has had. I'm currently on Mobic and Darvocet. I am also disabled since they pain took such a toll on me. Also I would recommend adding extra folic acid in his diet. You can get those at any walmart, k mart or whatever. Be cure to check with the doctor first. Also ask that he gives your son an MRI on his legs and head. Actually, I would demand one(depending on how good your insurance is). Hang in there mom. Please feel free to e mail me.
Take care and God bless,
Sincerely, Patricia

Take him to an oncologist. He needs to have an MRI or a CT scan. Many docs attribute pains in young children as growing pains, and ignore the many other things that could be wrong. Don't wait on this. I wish you and your son the best.

You are not able to medication your puppy on your own sorry. This type of factor occurred to my thirteen 12 months ancient cat . She had kidney disorder and she or he did not devour and was once susceptible and sound asleep plenty. She stood in my toilet for like 2 days and didn't transfer. I bet she felt she would be on my own there. She was once death and could not even stand up to pee in her muddle field which was once two toes away and ended up peeing on herself at the same time laying down. I lifted up her again legs due to the fact I knew that it doesn't matter what when you touched her again legs she might transfer them. I moved them or even squeezed them and not anything. I discovered that she was once slowly fitting paralized from the backside up so I rapidly bought my mother an informed her and we agreed that to position her out of all her discomfort and affliction we needed to placed her to sleep. It was once a tough factor to do and I cried for loosing the cat that was once older that me round due to the fact that I was once born. Get you puppy checked ASAP b/c you'll be able to preclude tons of discomfort and crisis for either one of you. Also due to the fact that you puppy is ancient, it may be some thing along with her age. Please get her determine. I'm now not a vet so it may be some thing worse the equal or much less severe so get a professional to compare... Good good fortune and desire you good...

I don't have any idea as to what his condition may be but I do know that the description you gave seems very severe and if your doctor does not take this seriously I recommend finding a new doctor. Today!
