Yes, they will grow back but your cat may bump into things in the meantime. There whiskers give them the ability to know how far they are from things. I don't know exactly how long it takes for them to grow back, but you probably won't even notice. You cat will adapt and life will go on and then one day you will notice his whiskers are back. I would watch your sister and scissors, it could have been his eyes or tail.

You may notice that your cat's whiskers don't seem to get any longer, from month to month, or year to year.Cutting his precious whiskers off, is indeed, cruel for the poor cat. Cats use their whiskers to navigate around, helping them keep their balance. Their whiskers are extremely sensitive, as they are closely connected to the nervous system, which help them coordinate all their senses. They are not to be without whiskers, or claws! Understandably, inside cats are sometimes declawed, but this totally takes away one of their most proud possessions - their claws to protect themselves.
My cat is very domesticated, but I have never had her declawed. She stays, mainly, indoors, but would have no protection, whatsoever, should she get attacked outside by a neighbor's dog who wanders into the yard. I rescued her when she was 5 years old. I'll never forget watching her sharpen her claws on a post when she had a litter of kittens. I would never take that proud possession away.
Back to the whiskers.......Any damage to your cat's whiskers will cause your cat to become confused or disoriented. DON'T ever trim his whiskers, and DON'T ever wash them, he will keep them clean himself.
Don't be too mad at your "little sister," as she is probably very young, (I hope) and didn't know better. Please, explain to her that this should never be repeated. It will take your cat a while to grow back it's whiskers. It is a long, slow process, and something your cat shouldn't have to go through. Please pay close attention to your cat during this time, as he/she is probably rather disoriented, and depressed. Not having whiskers, means the cat doesn't have all his normal senses......Not good.

It will take awhile but the whiskers will grow back. Please keep the sissors away from your sister, the cat really needs the whiskers, they are not just there to make the cat look pretty, without them the poor thing is going to have a rough time walking. Please watch out for her as she is going to be very unsteady on her paws and will fall off of things very easily.

Yes, but you shouldn't do this because they use their whiskers to feel around and to leave their scent on things. Tell your little sister to mess with her own things and not your cat's hair.
