For 3 weeks now I have been throwing up when brushing my teeth almost every morning. I don't swallow any toothpaste and I don't brush to far back, sometimes I don't even get to brushing the back teeth. I don't clean my tongue either. It only happens in the morning. Thanks

It could be a hyperreactive gag reflex. Could be due to postnasal drip overnight build up at the back of the throat. That'll do it too and only in the mornings.

Well, I just started using Yahoo Questions and have no idea how to check if the person asking the question is a lady or man. I had the exact same problem once, it lasted for almost four and a half months. Instead of using toothpaste I switched and started using just water with a bit of baking soda mixed in. (as my dentist recommended) For me, the reason behind it was my pregnancy. I'm not sure if this applies to you..

do you throw up after gargling? cause if yes, then i would say you have a strong gag reflex. but if you vomit WHILE brushing your teeth its either the brand or the taste of the toothpaste is not right for you or it could be psychological, you keep on thinking that you would throw up..

Strong gag reflex? Or maybe you're thinking about it too much.

It is a bad gag reflex....i have it. You can put salt on your tongue before you brush....that's what we do when I have a dentist appointment. Works everytime....I dunno why, but it does.
