Yes and a eye exam, with a fee of $26.00. You must have 2 forms of ID and proof of residence, but they will let you take the test up to three times a day.

You will only need to take the written test and you are given 3 or 4 chances to pass per visit to the DMV. Use the appointment feature for the CA DMV....it'll make your time there much less frustrating.
