On average, one a week...I, too, have a fulltime job, but I paint everyday, from one to four hours at least. Two studios, a "basement studio" at home, and a 20x30 room at an old factory now a studio for 25 artists (the Pioneer Bldg in Detroit). My "sytle" runs the gamut from Impressionistic to Abstract Expressionistic. ( www.victorpytko.com). I do four commissions a year, and about six to eight shows, selling about 25 paintings a year. All this since 2001 after more than 50 years putting off my art "career" till tomorrow.

By saying 'oil' painting you're excluding haft the painters out there, those that use acrylics instead of oils.

But to answer your question I average about thirty-five a year (all done in acrylics). Most take from two to four days to do (I can't paint all day because, like most artists, I have to work to pay my bills).

As to my 'style' I work in at least four different styles, from realistic portraits to figurative renderings to pure abstract, depending on how I feel at the time and what inspires me. I never think about trying to create great art that will last a dozen lifetimes. But I do try to always be as original, as inventive, as creative as possible.

And I don't paint because I'm expecting fame and riches. I paint because that's who I am, that's what I do, that's what my soul dictates from my life.
