Is it possible for paranoid schizophrenia to somehow change into a different disorder like ADD or OCD from generation from generation? Since a child has both the mother and the fathers genes, is it possible to inhereit at least half of the disorder or some form of mental disorder?

Yes, certainly. Most of these are really on a continuum. In fact, there is really good research that is showing that early intervention with meds and counseling in latency (like age 7-12) you can prevent the problem altogether.

I don't know that much about mental disorders per se, but anything that is inheritable can be passed on to the next generation. There is a 50-50 chance that whatever it is could be inherited through either the maternal or paternal side, or could skip one generation entirely if the child inherits recessive genes from both parents, but could still be a carrier. This is something you need to discuss with a psychologist or psychiatrist, as they could give you the exact information. Good luck!
