Korean-American, born and raised here, but visited Korea in the summers often enough, though it's been several years now. Both my parents are from 부산 (Pusan), so most of my time was spent near there, as that's where most of my relatives live (specifically 용도(Yong-Do) island just off the shore) but I do have my aunt and uncle and their family in 서울(Seoul). I'd like to see more of the rest of the country, though.

I gotta say it's cool to see so many non-Koreans interested in going there.

Well, I answered "Seoul" and "never been," but I'm planning on going to Seoul later this year and am really, really excited about it. I'm nervous b/c my Korean is pretty bad, but I've heard so many good things about the country and the people that I can't wait to go!

Something interesting: Let's see -- I find the Busan accent easier to understand than the Seoul dialect. Mostly because the emphasis is on the root word itself and not the modifier. Weird, huh? My Korean friends say I speak like I'm from Busan!

I live in Seoul and teach college English. It's harder to travel around than Thailand, Japan or Malaysia.
