A friend of mine invited me to come to his hometown Brazil and stay in his guest room and give me a tour of Rio de Janeiro. I was thinking that I should give him a small thank you gift when he picks me up at the airport. Something simple, not too personal or corny like a card =P Any ideas?

get him something meaningful from your home country. could be anything. A souvenir from the gift shop, or a picture of a famous landmark, or even CDs from his favourite artist. If all else fails, try chocolates.
