She is 11. Her sister is 14. Her sister hasn’t talked to her for 6 mnths because her parents don’t allow her date, go to the movies or friends house, & are very strict. Her sister told her to tell their parents to give her the freedom & not worry about her because when she was 11, she wasn’t allowed to do many things the 11 yr old can now because the second child always has more freedom than the first. She refuse to tell her parents to give her the freedom. Her elder sister feel it is unfair because she has freedom because of her elder sister & her elder sister can’t get freedom because of her. Her elder sister say she use her for freedom & is selfish & will not talk her until she do what her elder sister says. The parents know her elder sister hasn’t talked to her, but don’t know why. They questioned them but both kids refuse to tell parents the problem. Why are kids this way? Don't they want their parents to help them? If the 14 yr old don't tell, why not the 11 yr old tell?

they are just typical sisters, they dont want to involve parents because that means their kids and thats the last thing an 11 and 14 year old want to be seen as.plus parents alway want to fix the problem and there not ready to do that yet...sisters always just work things out eventually, but 6 months is along time to stay mad...they both must be really stubborn....me and my sister argue and forget it happened 2 days later.

Because this is the way it always is. The older one is the first one around and they're protective parents. Then the second one comes and they decide it's ok to let up a little, but they forget about the first one.

Also, the 14 year old can't really compare to the 11 year old's freedom, since the 14 year old is probably trying to stay out later to make out with boys and not just hang out with friends.

The kids also are probably different. Perhaps the younger one is more responsible? Clearly the older one can hold a grudge, which is immaturity in my book.

Neither girl trusts her parents to handle the situation effectively. In their silent feud, they are united against their parents.

Are you kidding?

Some parents are kinda useless when it comes to actual parenting.
