If there is light in the soul,
there will be beauty in the person.
If there is beauty in the person,
there will be harmony in the house.
If there is harmony in the house,
there will be order in the nation.
If there is order in the nation,
there will be peace in the world.

An elderly American Native, trapped in a snow-bound shelter with a boy from his tribe and a white man the tribe had adopted, shared some wisdom. The only one of them able to hunt for food was the white man, and they had not eaten in 3 days. After coming back to camp without meat on day 3, the old man greeted the white man with a pinch of tobacco and some remains of a crow the boy had managed to kill (that they had cooked). After the meager meal, the old man told the white man the following:
"Listen my son. You white men have your tame herds of cattle and sheep, and so in your plenty do not think you need the Great Spirit. Know this: the Great Spirit allows time of both plenty and want, that we may remember to depend on Him, and not on our own strength. Now you must rest, and conduct yourself like a man, for tomorrow you must hunt again, and I think this time you shall be successful."
The old man was right. The white hunter killed a buffalo cow the next day, and they eventually made it back to safety.
Sorry, I can't remember the names of the people involved! It came out of an old book.

I don't know if this is strictly an Amish saying but I have heard it said by members of the Amish community and read it in novels written about the Amish "Despise the sin...not the sinner"

Yes, I have a saying from the Baptists, and it concerns spontaneous salvation: "Once saved always saved, and yes you can sin, just be discreet."

"The gods help those who help themselves."
"The mills of the gods grind slowly, yet they grind exceedingly fine."
These sayings are said to have originated from Pagan days, but we Christians adopted them just fine.
