Why don't people tip? We're paid 6 dollars an hour to watch your kids for an hour and a half... do everything a normal waiter would AND dance with your kids, serve your food on to your plate, and focus on nobody BUT you.

please! tip 10% at LEAST, if you have a 200 dollar party an extra 20 bucks to your hostess won't hurt - thats how we make our money and our managers get away with paying us 6!

Well, I have never been to Chuck E Cheese for a party, but if I do host one, I will keep it in mind to tip. I think most people just assume the gratuity is added in with the party price. Most restaurants add in the tips for you if you have a larger party, usually 6-8 people. Take a look at the agreement that the people sign for the party and see if it has anything in it about tipping. If not, you can always ask your manager to add a line saying "Tips for good service are appreciated."

i understand where you are coming from. thats tough. personally, i didn't know people were suppose to do it. i have never had a party there, nor do i have kids. but i still didn't know. but if the party host did a good job, i would give them a few dollars extra. it seems like the right thing to do to be, but not everyone thinks like that. also, i can see someone thinking that $200 for a party is a lot of money to be shelling out already and that its all part of the job. also, i always thought that after 6 people, the tip was added in, its usually about 10-15% tip. i am not defending them, so please don't get upset with me. i am offering suggestions. you know, some places give out cards stating tips are "customary" like medieval times and a few other dinner party shows. we weren't aware about that until we got the card. my party was going to do it anyways, but some people would have up and left without a care in the world. whats common sense to you is completely foreign to someone else.

Wow im sorry you get treated this way. I personally dont take my kids there anymore because it is dirty, smells like feet and has all these kids running around like they were just let out of a cage. They stick their dirty hands in the salad buffet and there parents are nowhere to be seen. At least that is here in Chicago. Maybe in other cities there are more civilized people but not here. I have 4 kids and I take them anywhere but there. Not being tipped is wrong but to be perfectly honest with you, I didnt know that party hosts had to be tipped because of the high price of having a party there. Maybe you can add a note to the bill thats says "Tips are not included in price " or something along those lines.

When my nephew had his party at CEC the hosts did not "watch our kids." They brought the food and drinks but stood around the rest of the time. No dancing, no characters in costume, and when time was up they practically tripped over each other to clean up the table and usher us out of there.

Sorry, just my experience. Nobody has had a party there since and none of us ever will. But your $6/hour salary is terrible! Perhaps suggest your manager hang a sign that says "Tipping is acceptable and appreciated"

I take it you work there? LOL
I have had almost every party of my kids there and when I do have a host I have always tipped WHEN they did their job.
I have recently stopped having a planned party though because the "party package" price is just down right robbery!
If you do a good job I don't understand why you don't get tipped.. that stinks.

Most people probably assume that tipping isn't allowed, or that it was included.
