This is a tricky question. Yes, I believe that the LDS believe that they truly are Christians. The problem is that the LDS doctrines are not Christian. The doctrines say that Jesus is the brother of Lucifer and that Jesus is our big brother, not our God. The Book of Mormon is considered by the LDS to be the most correct book of scripture, more correct then the Bible. I've been really studying the Bible the LDS doctrines do not line up with the Bible.I don't know why they even bother with the pretenses, why don't they just toss the Bible? It's not like they follow it anyway.
They do believe that one day the men will have their own worlds. That is what I was taught. In the Book of Mormon there is the theme that the ones who followed God were white and delight-some, the ones that didn't where punished with the dark skin. Some of the early prophets, like Brigham Young where very racist. If they were truly God's prophet they would have not been like that. God would have set them straight, despite the times, and what society thought of the Blacks. The LDS try to wiggle their way out of things but they can't hid from their history and what their doctrines clearly say.

All I can think of is how Brigham Young had 50 wives. Now I cannot imagine 50 women wanting to marry one man. How could he run the Church and perform his duty to family? Even to the children. It would take a whole day to spend 10 minutes
with each child.
The problem or the good thing is that the current theology is effectively serving the congregation. The perversity does keep people together in community. The belief that you are better inherrantly or act better is also strong community building.

i'm aside of the LDS Church and maximum of what you adult men are asserting isn't actual! we don't worship Joseph smith or different prophets who've observed him. We have faith he's a mouthpiece for god. we don't think he's as extreme as god and he never has a similar power has god (Amos 3:7). we don't think Joseph smith wrote the e book of mormon. We have faith he translate it. (2 Timothy 3: sixteen-17) We have faith god Jesus Christ and the Holy Ghost (or holy spirt) to be 3 separate personages (acts 7:fifty 5-fifty six). We have faith in 3 separate stages of glory (one million Corinthians 15: 40-40 two) we have faith there grew to become into an apostasy (2 Thessalonians 2:one million-3) we have faith there grew to become right into a restoration (revelation 14: 6-7) we have faith to be keep you will desire to do stable works have faith in Christ and be baptized. (James 2:17-18) we don't think people who're not mormon are going to hell. Joseph smith had an worry-free writing point, yet pupils have shown there is 23 writing kinds in the e book of Mormon. How would desire to he make up the e book of Mormon?

I am mormon, or LDS as we are also called...though there are several other names that people choose to use, but we won't mention those.
I can honestly say that I as a mormon believe in the Lord Jesus Christ. I know that he died for my sins, and that he was resurrected from the dead after 3 days, making it possible for me to return to my Father in heaven. I know that is only through the atoning sacrifice of Christ that I can be saved, that through him I can be made clean, and I can recieve joy and happiness now and in the world to come.
I can't argue against the world and win, but I know that I am a christian. Take it for what it is worth.
I hope you all have a wonderful day, and God bless!

Even the devil believes in Christ so we cannot call every being that believes in Christ a Christian. We can call those who obey Christ, Christians, and this is where Mormons fall short because they don't acknowledge the true teachings of Christ or his Deity as the Son of God. They preach dualism where good and evil is equal but Christ demonstrated that He has all authority over everything and that Satan is a defeated foe. Any organisation that belittles the deity of Christ is a cult and should be avoided at all costs.

Tough call. They sort of are. They do follow Jesus and that really makes the Christian by definition. But their idea of Jesus is a lot different than other Christians, so maybe not.

They believe in Jesus Christ, therefore they are Christians.
Some people wonder if you are Christian. Does that make you a non Christian?
It does not matter if you think they are Christian or not, if they believe in Jesus Christ they are Christians.

They have a right to their beliefs, though I don't agree with polygamy. Very few of them practice this. It is not right to pit Mormons against other Christians.

You are mistaken about we want to be apart of the rest of the christian world, if we want that, we would change our doctrine to match the rest of the christian churches.
We believe in Christ, and no one can take that from us, whether we are christian or not is purely your opinion.
But then if the Christian world is so hostile and hateful,
I would not mind staying out of the Christian world.
