That is without using the internet to communicate other users and send file, only using LAN. I need a free software.

I know you can send LAN messages buy going through your command prompt.. fist go to start, then run, then in the run box type in cmd and hit enter.... the type net view which will show all the outer computer names that are on your network... so say for example you want to send a message to bob, all you do it type the following
net send bob hi how are you?
which will send a message to bob saying hi how are you?
and if you want to send everyone a message on the network all you do is type
net send * hi how are you?
which will send that message to everyone etc etc

If you go to http://www.nonags/com and browse through their categories, there will be one specifically for LAN messenger programs. All the programs linked at nonags are free, also.

you can use net command
or make a program by yourself:)
