A lot of these guys and girls started out racing go carts, short track dirt cars and worked their way up through the ranks getting noticed when they were young. Danica Patrick was noticed young as a talent. Sarah Fischer, same thing. Both these women are racing in the IRL now and Sarah raced in NASCAR for a while.
You can always go to the Skip Barber racing school. I personally know a guy who went to this school and raced in the Indy 500 last year. It's not cheap though.
If you cannot get into NASCAR, consider short track and dirt track racing. That's basically where racing started and any one of your local dirt tracks would be more than happy to have an enthusicastic person like yourself. Plus they need the support.

How do you lose an associates degree?
You can probably race your local tracks if you have money (which you said you don't) or know the right people. Start by attending the races and introducing yourself to certain people.
Honestly, you aren't going to make it to the big leagues. You are past your prime (in their eyes) and it would take way to long to get acclimated to racing. Sorry.
Maybe you should look into working for their teams. As another posting said, there is the Nascar Institute but again, that costs money. Good luck!

Chicks can compete, I am from Charlotte. There is a school in Mooresville called Nascar technical institute look it up on the internet. It is costly but worth it. I am going through applications there now. Check it out, it may be worth it. There is an average of about 10% women in every race shop now and growing. Good luck.

Since I don't know where you are from, the best way to get started would be at your local dirt track. It all takes $$$$, but the best beginner class would be the "4-banger" class. All you need is a 4-banger beater, a trailer, and someone to help you out (even if you think you don't need it). You can move up from there once you gain confidence...Street Stocks, Pro Stocks, Dirt Modifieds, and on and on. Have a blast and good luck to you!!

Your superb guess would be to p.c.. up and flow to the Charlotte section the place the NASCAR communities are based. i'd bypass to each save there, and grant my amenities for unfastened, if mandatory, to get my foot contained in the door. enable's get actual, although. At your progressed age, the probabilities of you getting a utilising job are narrow to none. those adult males did no longer start up on the suited, and that's what you're attempting to do. you need to sweep fairly some flooring first. Ask Junior. he assist you recognize ways he had to artwork his way up, and he's an Earnhardt! No unfastened rides. you're greater advantageous off staying with finance and doing all your racing on your gaming device.

I'm 27 myself,
I know a friend of mine that knows greg biffle personally, He got his start in the early 90's racing fast fridays at the portland speedway, which was aKind of a local thing in the summertime but no longer exists, He then moved on to bigger and better races throughout the country and eventually into nascar.
He was a replacement driver for my friends uncle and he owned the car too, and dealt with sponsers and all of that, I know one of them was foster auto parts,
So greg i don't believe had to come up with much cash to get into it, I'll have to check with my buddy to make sure this is all correct but this is how i remember it.

the best thing to do is just start watching races and pick a driver you like (it makes it more fun to watch)
keep watching it every week and do some research.
