I don't know, there's really nothing you can do. I guess if guys just tell us that they do likes us then maybe we'd be more sociable. I also agree with the girl above me...strike up a conversation and humor is a GREAT way to make us feel more comfortable.

I can be quite shy. I've gotten a lot better though. But I'm actually to the point where I'm not really shy around anyone EXCEPT guys that I like. For me, I feel a lot more comfortable when a guy is to the point and makes the first move (because that is something I will rarely do). And as stupid and lame as it sounds, flattery and compliments always win me over! Hope this helps you out!

well first of all to not have the attitude of wanting to Change her... not Expecting her to be more sociable.. because she might not be as much as you want her to be. personally, if it's the right guy and he makes me feel comfortable (shows he trusts me with his feelings and opens up to me and such) then even though i am shy i find myself able to talk to him and open up to him more.... because he showed that he was willing to open up to me. they say that when you find the right guy, even if you are shy, the conversation will just flow easier and you will Just be Able to Talk.. and i believe that's true. it takes time.. but if you show them you are willing to wait as long as it takes for them to open up.. they usually will! :) you should love them for who they are though.. shyness and all. because it just takes time.

Try to find something that we are really passionate about and strike up a conversation about it. Light humor doesn't hurt either.

Spending more one-on-one time with him, and just learning to be more comfortable around him. There's not much more you can do... but it does go away after time.

Feeling accepted by him, not judged or put on-the-spot.
