There is a coffee shop that used a picture of the angel Moroni with a pot of coffee being poured into the trumpet.
Given that Moroni is fairly important to the Mormons and they discourage coffee drinking....what do you think of the company's actions?
Funny? Disrespectful? Something else?
Tell me what you think, because it's sure caused a stir in the area.

Ann m: Calm down. I live in one of the largest metros in the Southern United States. When that many people live together, you can't help but hear about something that is controversial to some.

It is very disrespectful and I don't think it is funny. They should not make fun of or disrespect other people's faith and beliefs. Respect if you want to be respected.
Completly disrespectful... Even if I wasn't mormon I would think the same way.

none of your business unless they didn't treat you well. Are you there for coffee or to read shirts?? Your area must have even a duller life then I do if that's all they have to worry about. How do you and the people in your area happen to know or care so much about Mormons? Get a hobby or have some s-x or something and leave those people alone.

I didn't know the LDS church had a symbol. Hmmm, they don't drink coffee, tea or cola either. Not even decaff from what an ex LDS member tells me. I think if your mormon you're gonna be offended. I really don't care as I'm not mormon and don't drink coffee.

Mormons do not discourage coffee drinking. They discourage caffeine (because it is a stimulant). Not all coffee is caffinated.
I think this example is similar to some christians using the jesus fish symbol in the yellow pages to attract christian business. Soon, if the christians win out, without this symbol, one cannot do business.
Sounds like the mark of the beast?

I think it is funny. I highly doubt that most people realize that it is Moroni.

I think it's funny. People bash agnostics like me all the time; I never get upset about it. People really need to lighten up.
