Cussing is using foul language, I'm sure I don't need to illustrate. We all know cuss words.
Cursing is attempting to place bad fortune or luck upon someone. For instance, I wish he'd wrap that thing around a phone pole.

According to Dictionary.com they mean the same thing. Cuss is a variation of curse. I don't know when curse changed it's meaning from wishing evil upon to using inappropriate words. The whole concept of cuss/curse words in it's modern day meaning is so ridiculous to me.

Well, cursing can mean 'to ask God to harm someone' or 'to swear & use profane words,or blaspheme.' Cussing also means 'cursing.'
So on one hand I'd say they can mean the same thing, but on the other hand, to curse another person (as in asking God to harm them) is completely different.

that they are the same thing
cussing = cursing
"cussing" is simply just slang where the "-rs-" in "cursing" as assimilated into a double consonant sound.

cussing to me is verbal unholesome attack on authority or situation
cursing is to damn something or someone. To impose or wish a type of negative demise or outcome

cursing is asking God to 'damn' something.
cussing is just saying a 'bad' word without necessarily asking God to damn it.
