Volleyball probably requires more technique and is more of a team effort. Basketball definitely takes much more conditioning. Also, with basketball a really great player (like a Jordan or a Bryant) can make up for weaker players around him and carry a team. Since volleyball only allows a player to touch the ball once when it comes over the net, it's much harder for a top player to carry weaker teammates. Bottom line: BOTH are great sports for different reasons.

Well I guess it just depends on how you grow up and what you like to do. I personally LOVE VOLLEYBALL, but I play basketball too. Volleyball is my number one choice over everything, ever!!!! You have to be athletic to play either sport, you may have to be a little more athletic running wise to play basketball though.

Volleyball and Basketball are both better because they are sports that keep you physically and mentally fit; inside and outside.

Women's volleyball at East Beach in Santa Barbara is much more fun to watch than NBA.
Much cheaper, too, and you can tank up on Margs right across the street.

VOLLEYBALL! sure basketball is fun but in volleyball u have to have more control, discipline, hand eye cordination and u have to be able to play without thinking it over!

if you can't shoot and dribble, volleyball is much more fun. Volleyball is much easier to learn.
