My husband is home and I work full-time. We DON'T have kids yet, but he is home getting acquainted with being a homemaker. Once he gets used to this, we will add "Stay at Home Dad" to the equation.

However, I think my response is relevant to your question because housework is ultimately going to be a part of the package when the husband is home. Here are some observations.

1) Cooking: My husband is doing it. Not up to the standards I'd like, but I do come home to a hot or warmed up meal every night (even though it seems like Hamburger Helper is the main course 3 to 4 times a week).

2) Cleaning: Not a bad job. Carpets and floors are vacummed. Clutter is away. Dusting is done. Dishes are piled high in the sink - despite the fact he has a dishwashing machine.

3) Laundry: Again, it's getting done and no discoloration. He's even ironing my skirts and blouses! Big bonus.

4) Errands - Needs to be reminded a lot on this.

5) Grocery Shopping - Still needs a lot of guidance on this.

Overall I give him a "B Minus" and improving everyday. I think he will be fine when he is also changing diapers!
