That's easy!
It was aftermarket because GMC didn't offer a factory remote start on that year model vehicle.

There is several ways to find out, but the easiest would be to write the vin number down and call your local GMC dealer and ask about it. With that information they can tell you if it a aftermarket part or factory.

Mostlikely its aftermarket sice GM didn't often install factory remote starts during that time.

look at the box itself and it has numbers on it , copy them down and then call a dealer and see if it was a dealer item, but don't be surprised to find out the dealership had someone install it they do that on a regular with alarms and electric starts

You should beable to call the dealer, give them the VIN number and they should beable to tell you if it came with it or not.
