A Straight or curved Upholstery Needle. Link below to see what they look like. You could find one in a good sewing/craft store.

Measure 11 inches down from the top and 11 inches in from either side. This should be be the exact middle. If you have two covered buttons, sew them together on each side so that either side of the pillow will have a button in the middle.
