If you see a homeless person in the street he's there because he dosen't wanna work you can't force them to clean your house, baby sit, cut your grass, pick your oranges, construct a fence, or be your maid.

You act as if none were doing the work before Mexicans came - which is totally WRONG.

The problem is that you evidently don't understand that working at a cheaper rate of pay drops wages.

You evidently also don't understand that most American workers have jobs where taxes are taken out and are not paid under the table. That means that they can not lie to obtain benefits like food stamps, free medical care, housing, etc

You also clearly have a problem understanding just what "illegal" means.

No matter how one wants to dance around with facts - the fact is that they are illegal - they are breaking the law - the law states that they should be deported. So dance around the facts - and if your illegal, dance yourself right over the border to whatever country your from.

The illegals do jobs that people don't want to pay fair wages and benefits for. It's really that simple!

Company "A" knows that if they hire US citizens, they have to pay minimum wage, provide some benefits, and keep the work environment safe, or the workers will complain, quit or bring charges! Let's see, hire US workers to do the job... pay a fair wage, pay for benefits, and keep the environment safe (costs big bucks) ... or hire people who can't complain to regulators (at the risk of being deported), and won't b**** about unsafe conditions, lousy pay, and no benefits (thus freeing up more money for management bonuses and perks). What are we gonna do? Hire the people who can't bring in regulators, take the cash ... and DASH!

Today's illegal immigrant problem (with millions of illegals of every race and color) did not happen overnight ... and it can not be resolved overnight!

Picture it like this, you put a 55 gallon drum in the corner of your bedroom, every night you put all of your change into it. At first the drum is fairly manageable, you can move it anywhere you want, but ... after 1 year it starts getting heavy, after 2 it's even harder to move, after 10 years it's half full and a real pain to move, and after 20 years ... it crashes through the floor (weighing close to one ton, and full).

Now picture 10 such drums, the result of the "wink and a nod" approach to illegal immigration over 50 years ... and now we are trying to regain control? The business owners are still taking the profits, but we are just now noticing the result.

Now we are rabble rousing for our government to do something about this "out of control" situation, and boy are we pi**** when the government tells us that there is no easy solution that can resolve the problem in less than 1 week! It took us over 50 years to get here, it will take 50 years (and a lot of brains) to resolve this situation!

That "few ounces of change" (the illegals we were willing to accept for cheaper goods and higher management bonuses) has turned into a weight that a semi truck would have trouble moving! A few ounces per day, over 50 to 100 years equals one h*** of a lot of weight!

We made our bed, now we must remake it to sleep comfortably! We need a "two pronged attack" on this problem! Start with the "best of the worst" offer them a deal, Go out, come in again, pay a fine to offset the economic hardship illegals have caused (make it hefty, but payable!) and we will accept you as a legal resident, citizenship and all of it's priveleges will be within reach, but difficult to grab. Learn English, stay employed, keep your criminal record misdemeanor and felony free (who does not have a few violations, be reasonable!) and you can qualify as a citizen!

Then tackle the "worst of the worst"! Imprisionment, deportation and heavy fines (basically taking back any profits of their illegal ventures!).

It's about time we own up to the fact that "we messed up BAD, and we own a large part of the "illegal immigrant problem!"

Well, I must point out that not all americans are white. America was built from the hard work and sweat of immigrants from all over the world. Immigrants are what made this the Free land of opportunity. I am a "white" woman, although I dont see what being white means. Both of my grandparents came here as legal immigrants from Italy. They worked their butts off during the depression (do any of you american bashers even know what the depression was?). If my life is easier than the illegal mexicans, its not because I am lazy, its because my grandparents worked hard to give their descendents a good life, just as the mexican immigrants are working hard to give their descendants a good life. Also, just because I am not picking oranges, dont tell me that I dont work hard. The company i work for has mexicans, legal and illegal that work right beside me and get paid the same that I do. I have love and respect for them because they have respect for me. If illegal people come here from other countries and hate the people that live here, well they can just go back to where they came from. If you want to stay here and make a life here and accept your neighbors, then welcome one and all. Just dont screw over my government! Also, most homeless people are mentally ill. they dont have the brains to make a better life. Its not just they are lazy, most of them are sick in the head.

For your information, many of the homeless people out there are people who have some type of mental disorder. This happened because alot of mental hospitals where they were housed decided that they could save money simply by putting them out on the streets rather than house, feed, and supply medical care to them. Many of these homeless are vietnam veterans who went crazy as a result of the war.

There is no such thing as a "lazy American;" but, I can't stand lazy "people."

I am really tired of hearing this question being asked over and over again. We were just fine here before all of the illegals started coming here. They aren't helping us in any way!! The employers who hire them should be investigated and jailed. They are running our wages down and acting like they are doing us a big favor by doing jobs that Americans don't want. Those jobs existed before they came and we didn't need them then and we do not need them now. They need to find their own jobs in their own country.

This issue goes way beyone just work. What most people don't understand is that they drain us in other ways.I am a nurse and about half of the people we treat are illegal. What this means is that the hosiptal doesn't get money for the care we give illegals. So you have to ask yourself: where does this money come from to pay for that care??? It comes from the people with insurance, the people that pay taxes, and the people who ARE legal and that don't have insurance. This issue isn't about Latino versus white. It is about ILLEGAL versus legal. I don't care about your nationality. I care about the drain on our country economically. Another thing: the jobs they do??? They undercut LEGAL American's wages to do those jobs. So take your bleeding heart and try to research the issue instead of just reading a headline and then deciding.

No. You are obviously ignorant to why there are homeless people. How many people you know have maids, nannies, and gardners? Illegal aliens are slaves, and Americans don't work for slave wages. Americans aren't lazy, we are smart.
