Do you know what is causing it? I get eczema, and I try to just keep it at bay by staying away from the things that cause the rashes.
Once I do get a rash, the dermatologist is the only one that can really treat me.

Some eczema's are a symptom of a leaky gut, which is why certain foods can trigger a break out.

Also most commercial detergents, shampoos and soaps etc exacerbate the problem.

Try using ecover or natural alternatives for the above products.

We have used probiotics for eczema, with superb results.

Start with one a day, then after 2 weeks if no major improvement up the dosage to 2-3. Once you have the skin back to normal, take a maintenance dosage of one tablet a day

The best probiotic we found was primadophilus reuteri or bifidus.

Try and go as organic as possible in what you eat and use on you skin, and always wash new clothing, that has been our recent culprit.

Good luck!

You should try not to scratch, try to take an oatmeal bath, and try to use either cetaphil, or aquaphore, you can get it at walmart. There are two kinds of both brands, a lotion and one that is more like a vaseline texture. Use both kinds of it in one brand, the lotion in the mornings, afternoon and evening, and the thicker kind at night after a shower before bed. You should only pat dry with a towel, leaving your skin damp and apply all over your body. Start drinking lots of water, and take a daily vitamin E supplement. My nephew has eczema pretty bad and this is the daily routine for him, but sometimes if the rash gets bad, he still needs a prescription. Your family practice doctor may be able to give you a script with out seeing a dermatologist. Good luck.

My little boy had eczema on his cheeks. I was not sure what method to use but I didn't want to make my boy go through any surgery treatments at this young age. Some suggested a plastic surgeon since it was in a very visible location but our family doctor recommend this natural guide.

Best Eczema Treatment?

See another doctor, seek alternative medicine solutions and see a psychologist to determine what extent the cause of the condition is stress-related. That's three fronts. Try and find more that you can attack it on. Be proactive.
Also, diet may help, exercise, the usual stuff, really!
Certainly, you should be able to reduce the condition, you just have to strike a winning formula.
Read, read, read! Knowledge is power. The more you learn from books and the net, the more likely you will come upon a "trick" that finally works. Become a specialist, as you condition sounds severe and requires a special response.

A number of skin conditions can be related to a lack of essential fatty acids in the diet. There are numerous supplements you can take to increase these - things like Evening Primrose Oil or Flaxseed Oil. Apart from that, eat as healthy a diet as possible, lots of fresh fruit and vegetables, minimise the processed stuff. But I'd definitely recommend talking to a naturopath !

the alcohol might be making it worse the same as certain foods. my son was born with eczema he has it all over his body, when he feel`s ill its worse. the cold weather and hot weather makes it worse at times, but you have to be careful what you wash your face with, and most bubble baths make it worse even going swimming is hard, and shampoos. i use betnafate cream has been the best for him. all the bath oils which the doctor gave me made him worse, so i don`t use them now sanex bubble baths are good and baby soap.
