We need dopamine becasue it allows us humans to function. Dopamine affects neurons involved in voluntary movement, learning, memory, and emotion.

dopamine is secreted by the brain and it helps to control muscle movements especially voluntary muscle movements. It can also play a part in depression, a lack of it will cause muscle tremors which is what Parkinson's Disease is and you can also feel depressed if your levels are too low.

Dopamine is important in motivation and rewarding us for accomplishing tasks. Lack of dopamine can cause amotivational disorders. It is also important for supporting limbic movement. Severe shortage of dopamine can cause Parkinson's Disease.
