First you have to apply for Las Vegas Police Academy. You have to be 21 to graduate from the Academy and the academy averages about 25-30 weeks. After that, you will have to complete about 3 months of probationary period followed by about 3 years (depends on the specific agency) as a patrol officer (answers calls for service, basic calls, etc). After those three years, you are eligible to apply for the SWAT team. At that time, you would be around 24. This gives you plenty of time to get yourself in excellent shape physically. As shape is in important, nothing is more important that your shooting abilities. As soon as you are able to legally go to a shooting range, you should practice, and do it often. If you can't shoot well, you will not make the team. When you are 19-20, contact the Las Vegas police department. Ask to be part of their ride along program. Because there is a big difference between what SWAT does and a patrol officer does. All officers start out as patrol officers, and you should familiarize yourself with what they do, so you know what to expect during those first few years.

Good for you in setting a goal. Don't lose track of that goal. You have to take a few steps to get there, and there might be some aspects of it that you dont want to do, but the work will pay off in the end!

Try the hyperlink beneath. They have a characteristic to touch them. All SWAT officials are recruited from the ranks of already serving cops within the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.

you should get good grades. the pay is similar to that of a normal police officer. you have to be about 20 or 21. to get onto the SWAT team first you have to become a regular police officer. that requires getting certified at a Police Officer Standards and Training (POST) school then you get hired and go to tryouts. some of the requirements are being able to bench press your own body weight, leg pressing twice your body weight. passing Psychological and tests about laws and regulations. that's the basics anyways.
