Go to this site. It gives step by step colored illustrations on how to cut a chicken up.

I entered how to cut up a whole chicken in the search engine.

the video from Sugar Pies post is a pretty good visual. I would change the portion size of the wings and leave them attached to the breast and cut the breasts in half and clip the tip of the wing. Doing this gives you more equal-sized portions.
A couple more notes: when cutting the leg from the thigh. It isnt difficult to see where this cut is made. Look where the two join, there is a line of fat there and you can also feel where there is an indent on the outside of that joint. That is where you cut the two apart. The line of fat and the indent.
When you cut the thigh/leg off, you can easily see where it is separated from the breast after you cut the skin, it opens up for you to see. Its not difficult to take apart a chicken, just look at it carefully and it will tell you where to cut, be patient.

I'm a little lacking in the upper body strength. I bought a pair of garden clippers that I use to cut the larger bones of the leg and the backbone instead of using a knife or cleaver. Yes, I cleaned them thoroughly :)

heavy sharp knife or cleaver, cut off wings and legs, when you have the body of the chicken on the cutting board and find the breast bone and cut on it til it cut the carcass in two, then cut each of the two pieces in two...and there you go!
