Can most lobster recipes be substituted with crawfish?

Wow. Talk about stupid.
Of course they taste DIFFERENT.
If they didn't, I wouldn't be asking this question now, would I?

Crawfish are usually boiled in some sort of solution of spices and other ingredients within the boiling water. Classic lobster is boiled or steam with just plain water. I'm sure if you boiled a lobster in crawfish seasoning then it would take like a big crawdad, but lobster meat is more complex and thus is delicious simply plain. To answer your question, if you used unseasoned cooked crawfish, then it could pass for lobster the same as imitation crab passes for real crab. Hope this helps. You can do any substitutions you would like, however, most shrimp and crawfish dishes are interchangable. You would be better served substituting shrimp with lobster, as I believe that substitution would be better. Experiment and have fun...that's the only way to cook!
