I don't have the brand/manufacturer name..

I got it like 2 years ago.. threw out the box, and the webcam doesn't have the brand name on it.

So I basically just need some kind of drivers I can download that will work for any type of webcam.

gee, does anyone read the whole question? or are they just after points?

Go to system profiler, even without drivers the cam should show up and identify itself. That should get you on the road to identifying it and thereby finding the correct drivers.

you will ought to drivers for the webcam placed on you CD (which you have lost). on no account lose pc driving force CDs. you may discover the drivers on line in case you know the variety of the webcam. If not, then there isn't a lot you're able to do until eventually your lappy starts working lower back.

You need to go to the manufactures website and redownload the updated drivers. If that don't work, go to www.drivers.com you might have to find the serial #'s for the right cam driver. So what kinda cam was it? Logitech? 3ComHomeConnect?maybe you should try going to a major computer store like Fry's Electronics ( The store is about the size of a Sam's Wholesale store and we have them here down south in TX.) and see if a cam there jogs your memory.

As longhats says, you cant unless you have the specific cam driver. You could send me an image of the cam tho! Wont guarantee anything but I mite recognize it!

check your webcam.... the brand should be anywhere on the webcam... if you find the brand name, then you can just google the "brand name drivers"

I think you need to know the webcam manufacturer....You can always buy a cheap one on e-bay.
