No, the allergen on the pet is dander or flakes of skin, not the hair, although if the hair has dander attached, then it could but it's highly unlikely. People can be desensitised to it at an allergy clinic anyway. Why you would want to live with allergies when you can cure them is beyond me.

Most allergic people, would need more intense contact for an allergic reaction, but yes some people are so severely allergic that any tiny bit of hair or dander will set them off. Just like peanuts; many people can't *eat* them, but sometimes you hear of someone who goes into shock just because someone on the other side of the room had a peanut butter sandwich. Fortunately such severe allergies are rare, but it must really suck to have it that bad... you'd have to be very careful going out in public.

This would depend on how much hair you had on your shirt and how allergic the person was. To be sure, I keep a lint roller handy and touch up my clothes before I leave the house.

I'm allergic to dogs and started to get stuffed up and sneeze whenever the instructor walked down the aisle. She was covered in dog hair. Lots of dog hair and I had an aisle seat.

All I can say is, excuse my cat hair and dog hair too. Again, it is not the hair that causes the allergic reaction, it is the dander and the saliva of the cat that causes the allergies.

More than likely not. Most people are actually allergic to the dander of an animal, not their hair. There wouldn't be enough dander on your shirt to cause most people with allergies ( with the exception of SEVERELY allergic people) to have a reaction.

It depends on how allergic the person is to cats. I can go into a cat house, and I am ok unless I touch the cat. My husband starts sneezing and his eyes start watering the minutes he walks in the door.

Well, there is this little rubby thing. It is sticky and you rub it on your clothes, and the hair rubs off. It's called the Pet Picker Upper! I hope it works great for you, because it surely does for me!
