Windows Vista contains hundreds of new features; some of the most significant include an updated graphical user interface (GUI), and visual style dubbed Windows Aero, improved searching features, new multimedia creation tools such as Windows DVD Maker, and completely redesigned networking, audio, print, and display sub-systems. Vista also aims to increase the level of communication between machines on a home network using peer-to-peer technology, making it easier to share files and digital media between computers and devices. For developers, Vista includes version 3.0 of the .NET Framework, which aims to make it significantly easier for developers to write high-quality applications than with the traditional Windows API.

Hi. Vista resembles Windows XP in a lot of ways. Your other answer about the recourses need and the graphics intensity are correct, so if you run WinXP and are happy then there is not too much to push you to Vista

Vista is a terrible operating system. It does "resemble" Mac OS X, but I use that word lightly.

Stick with Windows XP or buy a Macintosh.

Vista isn't bad, but it's heavily graphics-oriented. It slightly resembles Mac, but under most circumstances is better. There are plenty of reviews of it on the internet. From my experience, you need a somewhat fast PC for decent performance.

I shouldn't be commenting, because I don't have it. I just remember people belly aching on here when it first came out. What I concluded is that it's not suitable for old machines, whatever that's worth.
