Yes, it is murder. It is a scientific fact that an individual's life begins at fertilization. (If you thumbs-down this, you oppose scientific fact!)

If abortion is murder, and I believe it often is
(I will explain the often part in a minute)...
then methods of birth control that prevent implantation, like IUD's are also murder...
Methods of birth control that cause shedding of implanted conceptus or refuse implantation like many forms of the Pill would also be murder...
Nobody seems to worry about these abortions.
The 'often' murder part is that most (at least 3/4) of conceptuses do not survive to birth, even under normal circumstances, but you can't know ahead of time if yours will or not, but the intent is murder.
I do not think it is murder to abort a fetus that cannot survive, because it is not a potential life.
I am not sure if it is murder to abort a child you cannot survive carrying to term... That is a hard one. It may be killing in self defense, or perhaps it is not killing at all, since both mother and child would die. Tough one.
If you go to the mall and get the flu while you carry a very new conceptus, you will never even know you lost it. Did you murder it? Or did it have an accident? How about if you loose it because you were out drinking last weekend, and were dehydrated?
This is a difficult thing for women, to have to be ready to carry a child at any time when conception may have occurred. Fertile women should not do things that would impair the life of any future child they may conceive today. They should avoid toxins, eat well, and maintain a healthy lifestyle if they would carry that child, because it will have an impact on the life of that child forever. But you can always get fixed, and prevent conception, if it is too great a responsibility.
Accidents happen, and children are hard to feed... but I don't think inconvenience or embarrassment are enough reason to kill a child someone else would be overjoyed to have in their lives.

I agree 100%!!
I do understand that there are instances where it is understandable to have an abortion. If a woman is pregnant and not only her life but the child will not live even to term. I could not personally have an abortion for that reason, I could only put the situation in the Lords hands knowing Christs sufficiency. I can understand why a woman would consider it at that point.

The question for most,is when does life really begin. If we can not agree on the answer to this question...the abortion dilemma will be with us for a long time to come.
I am persuaded beyond any possible shadow of doubt that abortion is wrong and is murder.
Allow me one quick personal testimony. Today I spent 5 hours with an 11 year old beautiful blue eyed little girl. She is a joy...so sweet and friendly with everyone,so innocent, just a wonderful human being....her name is Sarah.
12 years ago I,by the grace of God,was able to convince her mother that abortion was not an option and that she must not kill this innocent child....My wife was in sin and had been involved in an affair........

Some of us don't see it quite that way. First of all, I don't think abortion opponents as a whole really understand that allowing the government to decide whether you can have a surgerical procedure done grants them an extremely large amount of power. At first glance, it seems harmless, but it creates a lot of very serious issues regarding how far government can (in my opinion) intrude into our personal lives and decisions. Lots of politicians love to claim that they would support a ban on abortion except in cases of mother's life/death or incest or rape. Again, at first glance, this may make sense to you, but none of these people REALLY have the woman's health in mind, and having to go to the courts to save a woman's life in an emergency is incredibly scary to me. Also, regarding whether it's murder, I view the fetus as a collection of cells, not as a human being that experiences pain. Last but not least, you clearly are not very educated. You wrote "Abortion is Murder," but there is no need to capitalize the "M" in murder in your sentence. Also, the Bible says nothing about abortion, contrary to what you've said.

Does that mean you oppose the War in Iraq? "Thou shalt not kill."
Appears Bush went against God.
I agree with the above poster, "abortion" does not appear in the Bible.

"Thou shalt not kill" has been broken many times by the same christians who decry abortion. IMO even killing animals for fun is the same as killing a fetus.
It doesn't have to be murder to kill. A christian could kill a helpless bird, insect or frog and it would STILL be as horrible as killing a fetus IMO.

Google for some statistics on suicides amongst young pregnant girls in countries where abortion is illegal.
I could just as easy make a case stating that Pro-Life is Murder. But God, of course, like always, disagrees with me.
