Would you follow these two down that path?

http://pics.livejournal.com/unmired/pic/0004geg0/g16

This thing stays in my supply room. Not because I wasn't happy with the effort or the final effect because I liked working in this style. It's just that the painting seemed to come out too creepy to me.

I don't want to paint over it or throw it away, but I don't like looking at it either. Hopefully someday I can trade it off or sell it to some poor soul.

What do you guys think?

Wow if you hadn't mentioned it looked creepy I probably would have looked right past it...but now that you say it it IS really weird. It is a little eerie with the eyes in the clouds and the mysteriously happy and warm-toned children pointing down a path that leads to...some sort of twilight zone.
lol its pretty surrealistic but if it creeps you out then sell it-cuz I definately would.

I don't think it's creepy at all. I think it is a very beautiful painting. The people in the picture are happy, they are at least smiling. They don't look like they are in any kind of hell or in an unhappy place. They are just on a road. The one person (the lady perhaps) is pointing towards the future end of the road. Which I interpret as moving forward. I mean, in life, you can't exactly go back and change the past, you must only move forward. I think the colors are a beautiful blend. They are all (or at least the sky is) shades of blue. Which means that it's a peacefulness. It's not dark and gloomy. So, I don't take it as scary at all. I actually really like it. It's kind of like a Van Gogh, where people can interpret 'Starry Night' differently. Some may think that painting is scary because of the way the sky is painted. Some may not view the sky as scary. Either way it's a great piece and I think this is a wonderful and magnificent piece. Don't paint over it, please. But-- if you do, that is your choice. Look at it again, and try thinking of the things you like about it or attaching positive thoughts and ideas to it to maybe change your mind about it.

I enjoyed the set-up for your picture....

I didn't know what to expect, and after the creepy comment, and the question about " would you follow these two down the path? ", I actually laughed out loud.

Thanks, I needed that!

It's a wee bit creepy, but I'm a big fan of that type of thing... though, I, as a general rule of thumb, never follow anything that looks like it's wearing spandex...

I say sell it if you really are freaked out by it, but I personally don't see the terror behind this picture. To me it looks like a picture that would be the cover of a children's book or something. I guess we all have our different perspectives.

not creepy. just surrealistic. i guess the kids are fishing dreams and fantasy from the sky. i don't see any weird eyes watching. maybe you could add a dog or a car to make the scene more natural. maybe a bike too....

The only thing that struck me as all that creepy was the guy. He looks like Richard Simmons.

I'd like it a lot if it weren't for the guy. The colors are nice.

uh, yeah it is kinda creepy. but that doesn't mean that it's a bad painting. sell it to some poor soul who likes it more than you. that is if you don't mind parting with it
