Oh My!

Fat is what holds a burger toghether.
Forget about adding any thing but, seasonings.
Use a ground chuck. It has enough fat to hold a patty together. Season it with anything you want. Just don't count on eggs or bread crumbs. They won't work. Only i meatloaf.

To keep the meat from falling apart, you may want to try to put in an egg or two and then mix in some cornstarch. If you don't like eggs, cornstarch would do, but it tastes better with eggs. You can take out the yolk if you are worried about the calories in eggs.
In marinating or seasoning, I usually use iodized salt, soy sauce-for added color in the meat, usually the brewed ones or those which says less sodium. You can also blend in some shredded carrots and onions for a more healthy burger. It gives it a distinct taste too.
Hope this helps and I hope it turns out the way you like it.
This is what I usually do when I make my own hamburgers.

Well if the meat is good quality, then you shouldn't have a problem with them falling apart. And make sure that the burgers are thick enough for you to handle; thats a key thing. If you are still having a problem I would suggest [as many others did] a egg mixed in with the meat or some bread or cracker crumbs. As for seasonings I normally put salt, pepper, and garlic on mine. Want a rel kick? Put in some hot sauce [preferably Texas Pete!] in with the meat and stir it around, and then season it with some S&P [salt and pepper]

I've never had a problem with it falling apart. Make sure you're using good quality meat. You can try some breadcrumbs.
For taste, you can basically add anything you like. Try some Worcester sauce or some type of steak sauce.

Still can't figure out why you have a problem with the meat staying pattied together. They do sell these little plastic things that you put a ball of meat in and it will flatten it into a patty.

You put an egg and bread crumbs with hamburg(mix well) Onion soup mix is a nice seasoning , half a bag less spice also you could add a box of country style stuffing mix. That works very well and not too spicy, with an egg of course. Perfect burgers for a Mommie - to -be.

I use super lean beef and it always falls apart. You have to make it moist with 1/4 cup olive oil and 1/4 cup egg beaters (or one large egg), then add 1/2 cup Italian bread crumbs to bind it all together. I put my burgers in a pre-heated oven safe skillet for 3 minutes, then flip them over and put them a 325 degree oven for half an hour. I add blue cheese or sharp cheddar the last few minutes and serve them on big fat rolls.

When i make hamburgers, i always use bread crumbs. I also mix my meat with any of the Kraft barbecue sauce. then when my mix is ready i make a patty then put a slice of cheese on top then put another patty on top of the cheese then put it in the oven to bake it or on the grill. hope this help!:) Good luck and Congratulations

You don't need anything to hold it together unless you are using marinades, in which case they will fall apart.

I like to have 80% meat (the fat gives it flavor) and just seasoned with salt and pepper. If you want to, stick a small pat of butter in the center. That's all you really need to make them yummy (aside from not overcooking them).

As strange as it sounds, on the Kraft Canada/Kraft Foods website, I found a recipe for a meat loaf that calls for 2 eggs, a box of chicken stovetop and a 1/4 cup of you fave bbq sauce...just leave out the water in the recipe...

I used this mix to make burgers and they were the best we ever made!

Try it and see!

Lucky you to be able to eat/cook/smell hamburgers when you are prego, I couldn't stand that smell at all when I was expecting! :P

We always get compliments with this:

1 pd Ground Beef
1 egg
Enough bread crumbs to bring it all together.

For seasonings

Lemon Pepper
Liquide smoke (very small amount)
Paperika
Lawreys Seasoning Salt
Minced Onion
Katchup

You can use all the seasonings or just a one or two.
