It's not exactly common, but it's not unheard of either; and it's nothing to worry about. Aren't cats the coolest!

It's very common, nothing to worry about. The cat is dreaming and for some reason is talking in it's sleep. I've had a lot of cats in my life and have had a number of them that carry on conversations.. It's sort of weird and there's nothing you can do, short of removing the cat from the bed. But if your cats are like mine, they will just find their wa back into the bed, after all, they own the bed. The talking may just be a passing event. I know mine did it for awhile and then just like it started, it stopped all of a sudden and they went back to purring all night.

Lol, yeah I've seen my cat do this once or twice when she was in a very deep sleep. She made those little murmuring, grunting noises like she does when she's watching squirrels and birds out the window. Maybe your one cat has the ability to go into a very deep sleep easily. Some cats can't do this and will wake up from the slightest noise. It would explain his snoring too.

My dear, I don't know about cats but my dog used to do that after he turned 3 years old. I know it sounds strange, but it's true...
He was never snoring, just one noght he started making funny noises as you say. We asked the vet and he claimed that animals do dream and asked if he had mated (mmm, strange question, but i guess he knew what he was talking about).
I was only 10 when this happened but I still remember how ackward it felt. Well, I'd say our dear dear friends have every right to dream, talk in their sleep, even sleepwalk... I would just like to know what they're dreaming of and what they're saying (possibly something like "prrr, yam... a nice sardine" or "get out of me basket you ugly cat! you feet stink!")

All 3 of my cats make strange noises in their sleep but 1 is particuarly loud. They also twitch when they are doing this..i think they are simply having a particuarly good dream.

Yep mine does from time to time, especially if I have seen him chasing birds in the garden before he comes in or has been having a scrap with one of the other cats in the area.

My cat, Boomer, meows, growls, and hisses in his sleep. He is obviously playing out his bad boy fantasies in his sleep.
When his toes twitch while he is asleep, I know he is dreaming. If I tickle his toes very lightly, it seems to intensify his dreams.
