you are entitled to see a different doctor. If you are having problems doing this you can either make a formal complaint to the surgery manager (they all have one, you just never hear of them), or complain to the GMC (General Medical Council) whose contact details for your area should be either in your telephone directory, on the internet via google (type in general medical council and then your area) or try your social services for their details.

You're going to have to find another doctor or try to educate your current one.

There's more than just Ritalin available nowadays, and if your diagnosis of ADHD is sound, there might be something out there to help you.

My son was on Ritalin and we took him off it when he started with problems with his liver and kidneys. We changed all his eating habits, no energy drinks, limited his sugar intake, having plenty of fresh fruit and veg and good wholesome meals. And we listened to him more. He is a much improved 20yr old who has passed numerous GCSE's and now holds a secure job where he is in a managerial role. This from a child who had me locking myself sobbing in the bathroom just to get away from him and being excluded from school for bad behaviour.
