yeah, they're called night terrors, but that's kind of a misleading term because it makes it sound a lot worse than it really is. it happens during the 4th stage of sleep right before REM sleep (the stage where you have dreams), so it has nothing to do with nightmares because you don't actually dream during it. a lot of sleep-ologists (lol that's definitely not a scientific term =P) say that it occurs when you're unable to reach REM, and REM is the only stage that makes you feel rested, so it may have something to do with feeling a lot of tension over the inability to reach that stage.
there's no psychological disorder or abnormality associated with night terrors, which is why I think the name makes it sound a lot more grim than it really is. even though the person suffering from them usually feels some kind of danger that makes them act like that, it has nothing to do with the person being psychologically unstable, it's just a random unexplainable phenomenon.
we talked about them in my Psych class for a while so I kinda know a lot about them, they were really interesting. something you should note is that about 15% of kids under 16 experience night terrors on a relatively regular basis, then they usually grow out of it, but sometimes it's known to happen in older teens and adults.
also, the 5 sleep stages (1, 2, 3, 4, and REM) occur over and over again in that order while you're sleeping so the panic feeling usually only lasts for about 10-20 minutes at the very most before your brain gives up trying to get to REM and goes back to stage 1. the only real danger is you either harming yourself by hitting something by accident or just not getting enough rest because you don't reach REM.
like I said, it definitely doesn't mean you're not stable psychologically, it's just one of those things that happen for no reason that you can't explain, like how someone with epilepsy has seizures.

You sound like you are having a combination of panic attacks and night terrors combined with sleepwalking. I do not know your age, but you spoke about two different incidences involving your mom and your dad, so I know that you are a younger person.
You may want to ask your parents to make an appointment with your family doctor for a checkup to eliminate any medical problems which may be contributing to these occurrences. The doctor may be able to recommend some other steps to take to alleviate these problems.
Your parents might want to consider taking you for a series of tests at a sleep clinic. There are actually doctors and nurses there who will actually spend time watching your sleep patterns and monitoring you while you sleep and with the help of varies breathing and activity printouts can help diagnosis what is happening to cause these incidences.
This can be very dangerous and frightening occurrences, many people have injured themselves or actually ended up leaving their homes and wandering around outside while sleep walking.
If your parents are unwilling or unable to find you some help, you should talk to another adult who may be able to help you; grandparents, aunts or uncles a close friends parents. Please get yourself some help before you end up getting injured during one of these incidences.
Have a good night.

your sleep walking, thats the reason u wake up somewhere else. the reason for your screaming is your having nightmares.
Tell your family though that it is dangerous to try to control or calm down a person sleep walking because they can injure themsleves trying to control you ( depending on your dream u could seriously hurt them unknowingly) your family should just follow you and lead you back to your room.dont worry many ppl have this issue and most of the time it's not serious andit goes away on it's own but if you want it to stop right away or find out why your are sleep walking talk to a therapist, doctor, counselor about your nightmares.

It sounds like your sleep walking and having some kind of nightmare. Maybe you need to go to a sleep clinic and be monitored for a night to see what might be happening, ask your doctor about it.

You are having volatile nightmares. This means your unconscious brain is giving your body signals for the fight or flight syndrome and you take both. It's not a bad thing to talk to a doctor about what is happening to you. It might help you.

You sleep walk and you have night terrors. That can be really dangerous. I have heard of stories where people leave their homes and try to drive and stuff in their sleep.

Sleep walking and night terrors. I'm not sure what you can do about them, but do some research at
http://www.webmd.com
and if you can't find anything to do about it (or if it recommends going to a doctor), go to your doctor for help on how to get them to stop or something.
Hope this helped.

some thing is misguided if it infringes on a individual's organic rights. all all and sundry is entitled to issues including life, liberty, and prosperity. So in case you kill a individual, you eliminate their life. in case you place them with the aid of dominance and abuse devoid of their consent, you eliminate their liberty. in case you thieve their aspects or funds, you're affecting their prosperity. some thing is ideal if it preserves those organic rights and promotes them for others. in case you keep somebody, artwork to grant human beings suffrage, or provide to charity, you're doing the main appropriate element. besides the shown fact that, the line between desirable and incorrect often will become blurred. case in point, assume you kill a murderer who broke into your place to keep your individual family contributors. in this occasion, we are able to dissect your strikes and settle on them in my view to be the two desirable or incorrect. Killing the guy grew to become into incorrect, yet conserving your loved ones and aspects grew to become into desirable. consequently, the kind of desirable strikes and the quantity of robust that grew to become into performed is larger than the evil, so which you would be desirable in this venture.

Sounds like a panic attack. I have these often.
Do you sweat profusely, does your chest hurt and is your mouth dry when this happens? If yes then definately a panic attack.
