Can I record a dvd playing on the tv using a vcr?

If so, how might I go about doing it?

Most DVD players (at least I know the old ones always did) have a machanisim set up to prevent that.... but I've seen it work before too...
You just take the cable that goes out of the DVD player (and into the TV) and put it on the input of the VCR, then the input of the VCR goes to the TV... then you just set your VCR to channel 3 and hope it records properly.
