I do think there are still virgins, but the number of them IS dwindling. Why? I think more and more people no longer care about their virginity any more, and they probably think that being sexual means they are attractive. But hey, respect yourself and your own choice. If being a virgin makes you feel strong and good about yourself, then stay one. :D
p.s. I'm just like you--a virgin.

Children, both male and female, are becoming sexually active at earlier and earlier ages than before. Peer pressure
to give up virginity is rampant in our High Schools and Colleges. The availability of drugs (alcohol being a drug and readily available) has played a large part in young men and women engaging in sex at an early age. Television and Hollywood portray virginity as a concept not "hip" in today's society.

Wow, 20 and still got the big-v? My condolences! But seriously, to many people virginity is not viewed as something precious to be guarded (it's not rare or "special" since everyone has it). Rather it's like this condition everyone is born with but can get over fairly easily. I never thought of it as losing something, but gaining a step forward in life. And for sure, abstinence is not as fun!

I believe that not too many people believe in waiting for sex until marriage because there is not too much emphasis on morals and respect and people just don't think it is important. I am not trying to be a hypocrite, because i didn't wait until i was married, i honestly don't know if i will ever get married. anyway, people in this day in age don not believe that it is important have sex before they get married to see if there partner is any good. they don't want to be committed to someone if the sex isn't any good. it might sound harsh, and don't think that what you are doing is bad cause it is not, but unfortunately that's the way it is these days.

Nowadays, a lot of teens are having sex at very young ages. Some as young as 12. And most people are not virgins by high school or at least by college.

Well, you're only 20. I was virgin until I got engaged at 21. My close friends were virgins until they were about 25 years old, but none of us married virgin. We got married at the age of 26-29.

Most of the people that respond that way, Are the ones who chose to loose there virginity early. And they would like to think that every one is the same as they are.

Good for you! You should be proud of yourself. :)
In a way the person was right...how many of your friends or girls you know are still virgins? Not very many I am willing to bet. It is sad.

You are a fine strong person. But it is no one's business. It is not a badge of honor to be a non-virgin. Stay proud.
