a distance of 3x100 - 3x 0.02 = 299.94 feet should be measured off.

there are a number of forms of surveyor's tapes. they might desire to be precision and graduated to allow precise measurements. Surveyors even appropriate the measurements of steel tapes for temperature (even accounting for the reality that area of the tape may well be in warm image voltaic and something in colour).
